Refrigeration and Freshness
Part of what makes our food so special is that our unique preservative-free recipe requires us to keep the product continuously chilled from our plant to your home. That's why you find Freshpet in a refrigerated case. We know you and your dog will be glad that we haven't added chemical preservatives such as BHA, mixed tocopherols, sugar, nitrates, or propylene glycol, which are commonly found in dry, canned, or semi-moist foods.
Always keep Freshpet products refrigerated just as you would fresh cold cuts for your family. Once opened, our food will remain fresh in your refrigerator for a maximum of seven days. (You'll find a sell by date stamped on every product that is weeks later, not years later.)
