Why should I feed The Loved Dog Treats instead of human food?

Not all foods safe for humans are safe for dogs. By using The Loved Dog treat, you can ensure that no harmful ingredients are unintentionally added to your dog’s diet. In addition, The Loved Dog treats are specially balanced for high digestibility.

Are The Loved Dog™ Treats all natural?

The Loved Dog™ Treats use 100% all natural ingredients and refrigeration is the only preservative.

Yes, all our ingredients are sourced from the US.

Are all of the ingredients human grade?

Yes, all the ingredients in The Loved Dog™ Treats are safe for human consumption and come from USDA inspected facilities. While our product meets the USDA guidelines, since they do not inspect our product we cannot claim human grade on our packaging.

Where are the treats manufactured?

They are manufactured at human food factories in Wisconsin which Freshpet has partnered with due to their high standards and understanding that pets deserve the same high quality products as people.

Are The Loved Dog™ Treats raw? Is there a risk for parasites or harmful bacteria?

The Loved Dog™ Treats are refrigerated, but NOT raw. They have been grilled and oven baked to eliminate any harmful bacteria or parasites.

Do The Loved Dog™ Treats have any by-products or fillers?

No meat or grain by-products or meals are used in the treats only high quality meat and oats.

Product Usage:

Can The Loved Dog™ Treats be frozen and stored in my freezer for future use?

Yes, they can be frozen, however when thawed you may notice a bit of moisture on the treats. This is normal.

How can I tell if the treats are fresh when I buy them at the store?

Just like the fresh human food you buy, there is a “Freshest if Sold By” date on each bag.

How long can I leave The Loved Dog™ Treats in my fridge once I have opened the package?

After opening, you should feed the remainder of the bag within 14 days.

The moisture or amount of water seems high, why is this?

A.The Loved Dog™ Treats are a meat-based product, so you expect our product to be the same moisture content as fresh human grade meat. 70-75% moisture is the natural state of fresh meat. Chicken breast meat contains 74.6% moisture.

No, just remember to reduce your dog’s meals slightly when feeding treats.
